Family Day - Watercolour Portrait Painting

| This commission was a very complicated one as it entailed portraits of father, mother, son and daughter and their partners and children. And very important, the apple tree that is a feature in the family garden and their lives. It was decided that it would be nice to have the gathering at apple harvest time. | |

I took a lot of photographs to work from to develop a good composition, a few are shown here. When the layout was approved I then sent photos of the drawings to ensure likenesses were correct. Then I started to paint them, and sent photos at various stages. Only when everyone was happy did I complete the picture and I'm happy to say they said they were thrilled with it!
